Our Founders & The Mission

Twenty five years before, in 2000, a few socially conscious persons dreamt of empowering tribal students from Himalayan region, with computer education and good human values that must make them serve India better.
 

The people behind this idea were Mr F.C. Kohli, former Vice Chairman TCS, Prof Ashok Jhunjhunwala (IIT Madras and our present Chairman ), Tarun Vijay ( then a journalist- who later became MP ), Dr Vidya Mysore Srinivas, ( educationist), Mr Rajesh Kalra ( then editor in chief Times of India Internet , and Executive Chairman, Asianet News Network, Mr Rakesh Oberai, Industrialist & philanthropist , Mr Anurag Sangal, CA and Educationist, Mr Vinod Kalra, Financial adviser and social activist, Mrs Chhaya Khanna, illustrious architect and principal of renowned school The Scholar Homes, Dr Kunwar Rajendra, an illustrious alumni and civil engineer from Roorkee University and Prof. Emeritus IT, Michigan State University, Mr. J.B. Pawsey, a man of highest integrity education and highly awarded top officer of survey of India and many others.

 

The idea was formalized as Information Technology Institute for the Tribes of India (ITITI )- and the school as Doon Sanskriti School, as an educational initiative to empower tribal children of India, specially drawn drawn from the entire Himalayan region with an obvious focus on North east, Ladakh, Himanchal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand. Bhutan remains out dream area to train children to join the mainstream of the global youth leaders.
